Requirements

• Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner (Independent Practice). 
• one must be registered and have proof of the current registration with the HPCSA. 
• Grade 1: No experience required after registration as Medical Practitioner with the HPCSA in respect of SA qualified employees Grade 2: A minimum of 5 years appropriate experience as Medical Officer with the HPCSA is required. 
• Grade 3: A minimum of 10 years appropriate experience as Medical Officer after registration with the HPCSA is required. 
• Basic medical degree (MBBCh or equivalent) that allows registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa(HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner (Independent Practice. 
• Full registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner (independent Practice) Good interpersonal, communication and computer skills. 
• Independent and effective decision- making. ATLS/ACLS/APLS/PALS will be advantageous. 
• Diploma in Primary Emergency Care (DipPEC) and validated emergency ultrasound experience or accreditation also advantageous.

Duties

• Evaluation and clinical management of patients referred to the Emergency Department. Clinical training of undergraduates. 
• Relevant administration as required for medico-legal purposes.
